How do you make your bras last longer? Here are some secrets to extend the lifespan of your bras:
Make sure you purchase the right size bra – doing so can lengthen the life of your bra. Buy your bra so that you can comfortably hook the bra closed on the loosest or middle hooks. This will allow you to tighten the bra as it gets worn and broken in.
Check-out our size calculator to make sure you are wearing the right size.
When you find the perfect bra, buy at least two. The more bras you have in rotation, the longer each one will last.
Launder bras carefully! Hand-washing is strongly recommended. If you do machine wash, first hook your bras closed and put in a lingerie bag. Machine-wash warm and do not mix with towels, jeans or any rough materials.
Either line dry or tumble dry on low heat. High heat in a dryer will cause the bra elastic to break down and shorten the bra's lifespan.
Always air dry. The head from the dryer will cause fabric to break down much more quickly, causing the garment to lose its shape and fit.
Believe it or not, but an everyday bra is intended to last three to six months and panties about six months. You can extend the life of your bras by not wearing the same bra 2 days in a row. Alternating between bras will allow the bras to return to their original shape.
